Reverse Polarity

Hey, I acidently reverse wired my brothers Car radio to a battery, now it wont turn on, i did not see any smoke etc just wont turn on, will the repair be cheap by a eletrician? My bro will kill me if he finds out.

If the head unit was properly fused, there may be no damage.

You need to confirm that you have voltage on both the red and yellow wires (assuming it's an aftermarket head unit). Check for voltage where the wires go into the plug on the back of the head unit.

If you have voltage on both of those wires, check the on-board fuses (sometimes hidden under a flange on the wiring harness plug).

Oh my god, thank you so much! when i messed it up i was looking for the fuse, it was hidden under the flang, just as good as you described it, thank you so much man your a real help, I need to go get a fuse now, should be no problem. Thanks alot man.
