a guy is selling 12" jl audio /w boxand autotek XS550.2 amp for 200. should i hop on this

what model jl sub and what type of box?

it's really up to you, but at that price you'll have a hard time finding a simillar setup for less. you could always offer him less and see what happens. if you get it and don't like it you could most likely sell the items seperately for less on ebay or wherever.

i bet that guy is selling his setup, because the box is mistuned....the port needs to be a few inches longer.

it looks like the port is around 8"x8" for the surfce area, the port needs to be lengthened, or the surface area reduced.

you need to see how many ohms the sub is, and the amps optimal ohm load...you have to make sure they match up.

Clipped hit the nail on the head. Sometimes things aren't a bargain at any price.

Who's to say that the sub isn't damaged? If the box isn't tuned correctly that's a real possibility. Plus, an incorrectly built vented enclosure can be one of the worst things going, even if there is no damage.

The Autotek amp is very ordinary at best.

Personally I'd rather spend a little more and get some peace of mind along with the gear.
