RCA cables - How good?

What is the diference between sheilded and twisted RCAs? What do these terms mean? Do we really need $30 cables or will less expensive one work well?

shielded cables have a foil paper surrounding the center positive wire.

twisted pair are literally twisted, the positive and negative wires are twisted at a certain interval, and i believe are the same thickness.

more expensive cables usually have more copper...

I've used all kinds of cables in cars and never had a problem except for ones that the ends broke loose from the wire. I am using some Scosche twisted that were in a kit, they seem to work fine. Before that I had one that was 20yr old and another bought for $6 at a close out store, but it does have gold ends on it. Once I cut a cable and wire nut it back together to mono subs out and still could not get any noise in the system. I used that in a few cars and never had a problem. IMO if they are of reasonable quality to do the job, that is all you need....but you can buy the nicest ones you want.
