Colored transistors....come on, just think of how many amps pyramid or audiobahn (/etc bling type amps) would sell if they had LEDs in the transistors that lit up with higher voltage! Could make them clear with maybe three colors to start....lol! I could make millions on those....

theres a big difference between 90 degrees celsius and 90 degrees fahrenheit...

big fat chrome emitter resistors would be dope...especially if they were wirewound and were mini LEDS spiralling around the wirewound part...dancing to the beat of course...id buy em in a pulse width modulated second.

Go one better and figure out mounting, maybe a screw in each side like a TO3....or notches for a spring clip/etc so you can see the light show!! Then you would need some mosfets to match...hey why not make a big driver transistor with lots of lights for OEM, lol. Then put a mirror finish on the tops of them like cool shades use, so when off they are mirrored or pearl colored.

I think I've seen the green ones in HK amps.

Black dissipates heat better. Chrome would look cool but chrome (and gold plating) retains heat.

If you solder jumpers on the t03s legs you could mount them on a sink of any thickness.

Just to screw around, after I got a little SS d100 (series 1) I thought it would be cool to reproduce the little Pass amp using a better PS and T03s.

Lol, but that is one boring color.....we are moving into the 21st century here! Blinking lights make it go louder right? It will be like powerbooster lights all over again but they will be in the trunk.

you failed to mention that blinking lights will also make your car go faster as well.

They do. And it's only used for low-speed power switching devices like Triacs, IGBTs and some hexfets and rectifiers. Package parasitics are much worse than on typical plastic packages so they don't put the fast stuff in them.

But it sure would be nice to get MJ2119x's in those.
