Is it $40 or $80?

I own a 15 years old ZAPCO Studio 500 used to drive (in bridged mode) my 12" ALIANTE subwoofer:

Does anybody know an AMP who would do this better?

Best regards - Rudi_Ratlos

I think the guy has three phase linears for sale, that is why the ad is confusing.

Better...lol I wanted to know what was better and now I don't really know what to think.

@Jol50,

I have nothing to sell!
My installation is 6 years old and I will not change it.

The Aliante 12" subwoofers have a very poor grade of efficiency.
I tried a number of AMPs (f.e. DLS A1, Autotek Mean Machine, ..) to drive this subwoofer.
The only AMP that pleased my ears, that can play loud, is quick, melodic, ... is the Studio 500.

Best regards - Rudi_Ratlos

Oops I mean the ad I posted before that guy is selling amps. The Zapco certainly are high quality amps, if it works that well don't move it!

-What is the rms rating of the subwoofer?
-What is the sensitivity rating of the subwoofer?
-What is the resonant frequency of the subwoofer?
-What is the resistance of each voice coil?
-How many voice coils?
-What volume/size and type/design of box?

Zapcos amps in general are very clean and well built, as long as that amp is rated to produce a little more than that subwoofer is rated to handle and as long as you are running it bridged into a single 4 ohm load it should do the job.

Is it ten years to pass into the old school catagory. I was thinking more like 15 to 20.

What would amps made in the USA in the year 2000 classify as if that's the case?
