A properly built, and they have to be made exactly for that driver, BP box will work well in the narrow band it works in. They tend to be a little narrow for a car is all because most car speakers can't get low enough to match up with them.

It really does come down to what you listen to...Most people say a ported box is good if you listen to pop or rap. I'd say they are right but also agree with some others that if you tune it properly, it would sound awesome with rock as well.
