I've got an eclipse amp here with bad power supply fets.The ones in the amp are P50N06's.Is there any upgrade that could replace this part or perhaps a irf540n,irfz44n,or irfz46n? Only reason i ask about the IRF parts is because i have them all here.The originals are easy enough to get but i'd just as soon use something here if it will work.
If they are ST transistors, and the gate resistors are less than 100 ohms, use the Z46s.
If the transistors are Motorola (on-semi) and the gate resistors are 100 ohms, use the Z44s.
The motorolas are rated for 43 amps. The STs are rated for 50 amps. Either the Z44 or the Z46 can replace the motorola part but I'd be concerned about using the Z46s with 100 ohm gate resistors.
