I have a question about Sony amps, Talking to most of the people and looking at there systems why do so many people dislike sony amps so much? Al I hear is they are crap like the rest of there stuff? I always thought Sony was a good brand? There new amps look nice?

They're not the best amplifiers in the world but at least they're not the worst A friend of mine insisted on buying a Sony amplifier once to push a single 10" sub. It actually surprised me with how powerful it was. IMO you could do a lot worse.

They aren't bad amps at all. Just don't go by the wattage printed on top of the amp. Thats usually the peak power on the sony amps. We've got one thats 500 watts rms bridged into a 4 ohm load and it sounds great. Its only about $199, not too bad for 500 clean watts.
Don't worry... you can always turn the gain down!
