Alpine 3900

I got 2 questions regarding it.

Q1: It requires fixed level line input using RCA/optical.It was meant for the head unit with Fixed-level line output like 7618/7619 or using other Digimax range. How am I suppose to connect it to other Head Unit using optical cable? Or other options that I have, use Master volume controller connected to the output channel?

Q2: It's an old unit, is there any chance for me to mod/upgrade the unit to make it better?

I have never heard of the 7619 but I know the 7618 and the 7620 both work with this unit, I am not sure on the rest of it but the optical was for the stacker input not the head unit.....

Also works with the 1310 tuner/shuttle controller. If you ever want to sell it let me know. I've been looking high and low for a 3900 DAC.

It was so difficult for me to find it, well at least I would like to try to listen to it for once. Then I will let you know later.

I havent have the chance to listen to the so called "monolithic" before this.
