Help with HU amp

Do the head unit amps work like any other amp. EX. four postives for the speakers share the same negative?

No. All of the negatives are isolated for amps rated to produce more than ~5 watts into 4 ohms. In a standard head unit. There are actually 4 bridged amplifiers. The negative speaker wires have signal on them.

In most bridgeable amplifiers, the negative of one channel has signal and the positive is actually ground.
