ive been stuck in old school for so long now, that i realized that im not even sure what current day rail voltages are for various wattage amps.
so if you have a few examples including rail voltage, brand, wattage, class, minimum load, etc... id appreciate it. thanx |

I can't give you a list but in one amp I had on the bench, it had 315v DC across the rails. It was either a DD 5000 or a Goliath.

I haven't measured the rail voltage on my amps, but I have measured the maximum no-load output voltage on a couple
Linear Power 2.2hv - 135x2 @ 12.5v, 185x2 @ 14.4v (2 or 4 ohm selectable), max output voltage 33Vrms per channel when set to 4 ohm. I assume the rail voltage is around 100V damn...I thought I had masured more than just the LP, lol Well my Crown CE-1000 home amp has ~170V rails and I measured the no-load output voltage at 60rms per channel, rated at: 275x2 @ 8ohm 450x2 @ 4ohm 560x2 @ 2ohm But it's not a car amp well maybe in the next few days I'll try to measure my Cadence or Arc. |
