Well, what should be a relatively simple process has now consumed a day.
My car has no stereo (daihatsu charade 1994 5 door hatch) but all the wiring is there. So my dad gives me the old head unit from his car and some speakers and i take to installing it. I match the correct wiring from the loom to the head units cable and turn the key....nothing happens. After several hours of trying and trying i decide it is the head unit. So i buy a new one. Same result. I've tested the cabling and power is getting through but neither head unit is turning on. Any ideas? |

there should be 2 +12v input connections. one connects directly to the battery (permanent 12 volts to save the settings when the head unit is turned off) and the other input to the ignition( so the head unit turns on when you turn the key) there's also a remote output( used to turn on amps etc)
