OK, maybe I spoke too soon It seems that the noise is mostly gone (appearently I had the gain all the way down when I was rewiring things which lead me to believe I solved the problem). I have done EVERYTHING imaginable. If the gain is kept down you can barely hear it. Which leads to my next question:

Where should the gain controls be on the subwoofer amp and the amp for the highs? My friend was saying that the subwoofer amps gain should be about half way, but if I do that and keep the gain low on the amp that controls the highs all I hear is bass.

I'm hopin the clarion eq might take some of the residual noise out, but if not what is the best way to set the gain controls. Also what are the gain controls for? I noticed that the EQ also has min and max controls on it. Thanks!!!

What is REALLY weird about the ignition noise is that I have two guages running off of the fuse boxes radio terminal (this terminal only powers my tach and air fuel gauge) - which is only on when the ignition is on. Well if I unplug the power terminal the noise in the system is VERY loud, if I plug the power back into the terminal the ignition noise pretty much dissapears, though you can still barely hear it. I cannot figure out how those independent wires (if unplugged from the power terminal) are inducing a noise into the radio. Perhaps someone can offer a solution. Perhaps their is noise in the system through the ignition wire (fuse block radio terminal) and the guages are filtering it out?

Do you have speakers connected to the speaker outputs of your head unit? If so can you hear any of the noise coming from them?

I checked this morning. I connected the ohm meter to the rca shield on the preamp out and the HU casing. The ohm meter did not show anything. I tried it at different levels (200, 2k, 20k, etc.) and it still would not register anything on the digital multimeter. Thoughts?
