This guy needs some non virtual help. Haha, does anyone here live nearby? I don't see how anyone could deal with engine noise this long, and not go insane.

HAHAHAHA...
Anyway, I have found that even if I ground the HU RCA jacks it still makes the sound through the amps. I disconnected the RCA plugs from the amps and can still hear the noise coming from the speakers - this is for both the highs and sub amp. I have done all the grounds to one, grounded both batteries to the engine, etc. converging on one point where the system grounds to. Re did most of the wiring under the dash (really need to do this - rats nest), etc. Could it be that my power system is just plain noisy with two battsm HO alternator, and high voltage elect ignition? It is almost like the power demons are plaguing me... |

If the amplifiers make noise with no RCAs plugged into them, they are probably defective.
If you have y-cables connecting the two amps, disconnect them. If the noise goes away, one amp may be defective. If either amp is still noisy, disconnect the speaker wires from the noisy amp and check for continuity between the speaker wires and chassis ground. A shorted speaker wire can cause noise to enter the system. If no speaker wires are shorted to ground, use a test speaker (one that's not mounted to the vehicle) with a short length of wire (wire that's not installed under carpet or otherwise run in the vehicle) and connect it to the noisy amp. if the amp is still noisy with the test speaker, the amp is defective.
