wondering how do u check a capacitor with a multimeter to see if its good or bad?

the value of the cap is 4700uf 50 volt and it looks like the cap has been through war and back but the top and bottom of the cap arnet popped so i was going to check it to see if its still good and the cap in question is in parallel with 2 more in the power supply section

Well, if it looks bad, it ain't worth testing, especially since you need to pull it out of the circuit to test it properly.

Replace all three of them. Caps are cheap. I recommend a high frequency, low ESR type. Illinois Cap has some for a buck or two each. You could go standard 105C types as well, for about 1/2 the price.
