do you know what component can cause a buzzing sound in a amp?with power hooked up but no speaker and no rca cables attached

The transformer is generally the only component that will make any noise. Many times, you can touch it or twist it and the buzzing will stop.

there is a buzzing noise coming from inside of amp when volume is increased do you know what causes this?

I only had one audiobahn that did that, but if it is the power supply it should stay the same. I guess if you load that amp and it is regulated it could change as the PS ramps up. The AB I had to have the cover off and my ear right next to the transformer to hear a static type sound. it seemed to work fine though, I could find nothing wrong with it and with the fan going and cover on I could not tell. I'm not sure what else besides a transformer would buzz in an amp, guess I would take a look and try to locate it or use a piece of wood/plastic rod by ear.
