I am replacing my car standard head unit and is locating the connector to the car radio antenna.
First, there is no external antenna on my car. Second, there is a connector that I think is for the antenna but it has a small circuit board and 4 pins connector. Any body knows anything about this? |

What rock have you been hiding under ?
That IS the connector. Anttena will be an 'in glass' one. That circuit will be an anttenna amplifier. |

OK MadMutt. I probably have been too long under that rock in Alice Spring
Now, I supposed I have to connect 2 of the pins to the car battery and 2 the the antena input? I have done that and the reception is still not that good. How can I improve this? |

Ditch the whole set up and install a 'normal' antenna.
Active antennas are a joke (my thoughts). If the signal is weak, then the 'amplifier' is also going to increase the noise. Not sure about the pin connections. Maybe some else here will be able to help out. What sort of car ?? And if you were 'hiding' under 'Ularu' then you would either be; 1. very flat. 2. claiming land rights. |
