here is my reference:
http://www.scosche.com/scosche/direct/bmw.asp According to this reference, a 1996-00 BMW supports a direct connection with EITHER a pioneer or nakamichi cd-changer. Does this mean that pioneer's P-bus is directly compatible with the nakamichi protocol and vice versa? |

nope. its talking the Mbus units with the round plugs. I think the old m bus was compatible with alot of old chrysler products. The P bus is the newer style similar to how old alpine stuff will work with honda/acura but the AI net will not.
