Default Looking for Car MP3 player

Hello,
My car has a MP3 slot available. I was wondering if I just buy a regular MP3 player if it would work with the car, or would I also have to buy an FM transmitter too? Any suggestions, comments or any new models of MP3 players coming out.

Sounds to me your car has an 1/8 inch stereo input to plug an MP3 player into. If this is the case, no you would not need to get an FM transmitter. Radio Shack sells the plug you need to connect the unit to your radio. Maybe someone else here can help you with the latest and greatest MP3 players.

It's also worth noting that some of the latest models have a USB input for memory sticks. I have seen one with a memory card reader before.

So which is it? A USB (like your computer has), a cards slot (like your phone or camera has), an input socket (looks like a headphone socket) or is it simply a CD player that can play CD's recorded in an MP3 format?

Give us some more information and maybe we can help.

Regards,
Martin.

Hang on a minute! I just realised. Your CAR has an MP3 socket and NOT the stereo?

Do you have a car stereo installed? Is it the standard item that came with the car? Where is this 'slot'? You want to find a new stereo?
