Hi, I have an old KDC-C300 CD changer that used to go in my boot years ago. The car was broken into and the head unit stolen. I never got round to replacing the Kenwood head unit and changed to a Sony MD one instead.
The C300 cable end is square but I had a round end conversion fitted from a Car Hi-Fi shop years ago (I think that’s the right way round) but I don’t believe there is a way of getting non-Kenwood head units (like my Sony) to work the C300.
My question is can I buy an aftermarket controller to work my C300 with the output pumped to my Sony head unit or do I need to buy an old style Kenwood head unit?
I suppose the other potion is to eBay it and buy a compatible Sony unit, but that’s bound to leave me out of pocket!
Cheers
