Hi.

Currently, my car's speakers are all stock, but I did add an amplifier. I plan on upgrading my speakers during the summer as a fun little project. My budget is under $150 canadian, and I will probably build a custom passive crossover.

I plan on putting some components in my front doors using this 6x8 > 5.25/6.5 adapter:

I dont have the tools to custom build an adapter out of wood.

My musical taste: I admit my ears are probably not as golden as some of you here. I have a very general feeling of what sounds good, and what doesnt, but I dont think I am at the point where I can actually tell the difference very well, but I am learning. I am an average teenager, and I am really into audio (home and car). I think the best sounding speakers I have ever heard so far was at my local THX certified movie theatre, and I think I would like speakers which can offer close to that kind of detail. I like something punchy, but not too overly bright and harsh.

For the woofer, I am thinking about maybe this Audax AP130 Aerogel:

I've heard good reviews about the Aerogel series from a few forums. Can anyone confirm? Or does anyone have suggestions for something better, within my price range.

Picking the tweeter is the difficult part, since I have only 0.75 inches of depth availiable. The only two tweeters which match this requirement (that I have found so far) are the Seas 27TFFNC and the Dayton ND20:

The Seas cost more and I havent exactly found any reviews on them, so I am mostly leaning towards the Daytons. They are cheap and I have heard good reviews. Before I go and buy, I would like a final opinion from someone more professional than me. Do you guys think the Aerogels + ND20 would make a good combo? Or do you think there are better options?

Thanks.
