Loudspeaker Protection With a Difference

The LSP Two unlike most other protection boards controls the DC voltage rails right at the amplifier module or modules. Should one of the amplifier modules fail and produce a DC offset, the LSP Two will detect this and directly switch off the DC voltage rails and hold or latch them off until a power cycle is done.
The LSP Two has a 90% high efficiency switching +24 volt regulator that operates at 600khz and is very low noise that powers the entire board and will allow as much as +95 volts input from the main amplifier power supply.
It will also sense when the main AC mains is lost and instantaneously switch off the DC voltage rails to the amplifier modules. The on board Protection Enabled LED can be extended to the front panel of your amplifier and the LSP Two will protect or monitor as many as six amplifier channels.
The LSP Two controls the Positive and Negative voltage rails with two independent 30 amp relays, so there is one relay for each DC voltage rail.
The input to the switching regulator is polarity protected, so if you accidently connect the LSP Two to the wrong supply rails it will not be damaged.
One other option which can be added to the LSP Two would be to wire in a heat sink mountable thermal switch and pick off the 24v supply from the board and wire it in series with the thermal switch back to one
of the six available DC offset input channels. So if the amplifier overheated its main power supply would shut down at the predetermined level set by the thermal NO switch.
The HPA-LSP Two measures a very compact 120mm x 50mm with a maximum height of 33mm when using 10mm stand offs.

The LSP Two modules are now available from the Online Shop at High End Audio MOSFET Amplifiers - Amplifier Modules - DIY Amp Modules - DIY Audio - Amp Kit
