Hi Peter.
I've just collected a second hand CEC TL5100 and tomorrow I'll go home and try it with your DAC (today there is a very cheap dvd player....).

Thanks again for the DAC kit!

Yes.

Initially, it wasn't really much impressive, I had to experiment with supporting platforms and cables.

It sounds much better with holder feet under the cones and it also seems to sound better on acrylic rather than granite.

The sound could be described as having "musical softness, tonal non-aggressiveness, space, elegance and grace".

I didn't really realized how much I'm getting of it, untill I switched back to Levinson. There isn't really much to compare

However, it does not play CD-Rs.

I had to modify Levinson to get closer to that sound. CEC is already better, even without any mods.

The umbilical though is like 3 meters long, I will try to experiment with that first.

Apparently, paired with a good DAC, it is also better than Linn CD12.
