Boards are at the assembler.. things are coming along

cDAC+ is built around three components

Tenor TE7022L UAC1 engine
ESS Technology ES9023 24 bit DAC
Analog Devices ADUM4160 usb digital isolator

the footprint is designed to fit inside Hammond 1551KTBU (translucent blue) or 1551KBK/1551KGY (black/grey) enclosure.

due to the size of the enclosure, rca jacks can not be hard mounted to the enclosure. I envision the box to be built as part of a usb <-> rca cable, making this a true cable dac.

I don't have the equipment to do the measurements. I have sent the prototype board out to my existing odac customers and the feedback has been very good.

---

the first 100 units will be sold as kits with a standard 5v wall wart, the 1551KTBU case, pricing will be posted as soon as I get the final landing costs for the first shipment.

I will be working on a "reference" design with regulated power supply, that is meant for those who will built it into a larger enclosure and wants to get the last bit of performance out of the dac.

Awesome job! Very excited about this. Was going to try to mod an ODAC like this.

With the DC in, I assume it would benefit from a linear regulated psu?

For your reference are you simply going to build the linear regulated psu onto the board?

Any idea on how sensitive this might be to interference? I'd like to mount one inside and amp case.

I am not building the linear regulated psu onto the board..

the standard build will use a wall wart..

the reference build will be using a tracking linear all discrete power supply in a desktop case (possibliy with buffer output)

I would definitely mount this inside a small metal case before putting into an amp case..

Hello! I have a question for you.

I have a B-Board buffer and psu almost done, and I would like to use this as an output for a dac. Could I use your cDac and power it from the B-Board Z-Reg outputs? They supposedly put out a regulated 11vdc. If so it would be awesome, everything go nicely together in a GX248 chassis I have leftover...
