Modded a Trends Audio T-Amp yesterday; changed tank caps, input caps, RCAs and speaker outs. Nothing too wild.
Turned it on and measured DC offset at the output. On the Left output it was a little high (4 mV) so I tried adjusting it using the trimmer. When I did, the offset fluctuated wildly, going as high as 70 mV. When I got it to around +10 mV, I noticed that the slightest touch would send it fluctuating anywhere between +15 mV and -15 mV.
Is this a bad trimmer, or a symptom of a larger problem? Should I start by switching out the trimmer, or does anybody have suggestions for another area to start troubleshooting? Thanks very much.
