Default Samwha 8200Mfd / 100v Cap pins

Hi Steve,

I built a linear power supply with these last night and when testing, I noticed a short in the circuit.

According to the label on the caps, pin B is positive (100v), pins A & C are blank and the 4th, (unlabeled) pin is negative. (see the attached photo)

Click the image to open in full size.

When I do a continuity test on the caps though I see pins B and the unlabeled pin have continuity (this explains the short).

Are these labeled incorrectly or am I missing something?

Thanks for your help.

Well, I guess I should have tested some other caps first before posting this... I guess continuity between + & - poles on a capacitor is normal. Sorry for the fuss

You should read a very high resistance (in the millions of ohms) between + and -.

A ohm meter will not give you a proper reading.
