I purchased Beogram 1202 from Ebay, and I've connected to my Pioneer A/V home theatre system through a cheap phono stereo preamplifier.
I can hear the sound fine except there is a significant amount of static noise (not sure this is called "static noise".. ) When I turn on the turntable, I get this noise through the speakers. Even when the stylus is not touching the LP. It sounds like when you turn up an old hifi system really loud without playing any music. Can anyone help? |

It sounds like "hum"--grounding issue. I cannot give you any other advice than to check the ground lead from the turntable.

If the Beogram is equipped with the original AF cable with the DIN plug, then there are two ground screens one for the chassis ground which is connected to plug's metal case and the other for the signal ground which is connected to the ground pin of the plug. I hope this helps.
