I know multitrack heads weren't ever designed for metal
bias reel-to-reel, but hey, look at all the 1/2inch video tapes that are metal particle tapes, A modified 1/2 inch transport with properly designed heads and bias electronics should make one h***-of- a great 8 channel machine. Too bad they stopped with the EE tapes! Imagine emptying out a couple Betacam cartridges and splicing them onto 10-1/2 inch reels? Anything wrong with the type of tape used in video? |
