Sansui SR222 MkIV

Hi all.

Time has come to play those old vinyls again but time has moved on and most of my old kit has gone. However I have an old Sansui SR 222 Mk IV which has an Audio Technica AT 30E fitted and this seems like a good place to start.

However a few questions. As it's an MC cartridge it's unlikely to work with any of my present amps (Onkyo CR-505DAB receiver and an Onkyo TX DS484 receiver) as one has a line input only and the othet will expect a MM I suppose.

I considered buying a preamp but am concerned that this will not do the job.

What help can anyone offer a newby that simply wants to listen to Autobahn again.

The DS484 has a phono input with 2.5mV sensitivity.
Worth a try.
