Easy -
Using a soft cloth, clean it with a detergent under running warm water. Wipe it clean with another soft cloth, flood the lp with 50/50 isoprop/aqua dest. and wipe off with a record cleaning brush.
Let try, put in a new sleeve.

This "alcoholic" cleaning removes any detergent and possible mineral deposits from the water.

I hope this helps

I have alot of experience with mold. I do investigations and write specifications for the removal of mold in commercial and residental structures. If its drywall or wood I am comfortable. I do not however have knowledge in conservation of antiques and valuables, so try this at you own peril ;)

Vinyl is non porous so the mold actually grows on oil from your hands, dust and other organic material that is a food source on the surface of the LP. A 10% bleach solution is plenty strong enough to kill mold, but probably not needed or advisible.

Just was with water alone first. see cleaning method two on the bottom:
http://www.epa.gov/mold/table2.html
the paper and books section will give you an idea on what to for the sleeves and covers

If that doesn't work, for killing mold I'd try vinegar and mild soap combo like this homemade window washer:

Vinegar doesn't seem as harsh on plastics as bleach.
Wash with the grooves not across them. I'd use brand new microfiber cloths to wash and dry. Follow with a carbon grove brush when dry.

Good luck preserving your records.
