Would anybody be interested in a single piece braided composite tonearm?
http://www.3tex.com/3braid.cfm That technology allows me to alter the shape of the braid at any point and to weave in any other type of fiber. Maybe thick cotton yarns for dampening. The ability to change the shape of the braid means that i can braid an integral headshell and perhaps mounting bracket. Tell me your thoughts Thaddeus |

Do you have access to one of these machines, or are you thinking of hiring this out. I would guess that it would be really expensive. I would be interested, but cost is of course a factor.

I do have access to these machines. to the level of repair and maintainance! ill just need to work out the best shape and structure. I will also probably machine some sort of pivot which can act as a test bed for various designs. Maybe each design can have a common mount. Working with these composites is so cool. carbon fiber is so light that when clumps of fine fibers are subber from the yarn during handling, they float and waft around... Getting into computers and frying motherboards...
If i aver get started i shall let you know |
