Thought I'd get a stylus for a sony tt I was given and play a few of my old vinyls. The only RIAA pre-amp I had was part of my old Toshiba amp and it's not very good. (Harsh treble and needs the volume on full.)
Can't find any info on my cartridge except what's printed on it. Sony moving magnet XL-150. I'd like to veroboard a phonoclone just to get me going and am checking that the phonoclone is suitable for my cartridge. I'd like to build something that can also get used if I upgrade the cartridge. Also, any ideas on how good/bad my cartridge is? |

You should look into either a different phono stage or cartridge. The Phonoclone is designed to work best with moving coil cartridges.
It likes to see a fairly low cartridge resistance. Most moving magnets have a high resistance. George |
