Hello fellow do it yourselfers!
Here is my question. I downloaded an excell spreadsheet for calculating pick up arm mass. Unfortunately the cartridge compliance notation is measured in a strange way! In the UK we use cu as the notation and on the spreadsheet the compliance is measured in um/mN. Has any one got the corelation between these two types of notation. I have tried to get the conversion from quite a few cartridge manufacturers and only one has heard of this notation and he couldnt remember what the conversion factor was. Can any one help me. Sorry, can't help. But, could you post a link to the spreadsheet?
Max edit: forget it, I found the link. |

Hi,
in the UK we use cu which stands for compliance units. Basically because people don't inderstand um/mN. They are the same thing. /sreten.

Thanks Sreten I am appalled at the lack of technical knowledge in our industry.
Once again thank you. Stewart |

Hi,
for what its worth um/mN also = cm/dyne = cu. In the old days cm/dyne was much more common than um/mN. /sreten.
