I have a Unity One Rotary Platform with a Grace F9E cartridge that I bought about 20 years ago. It is belt-driven, totally manual, has a very heavy brass(?) platter and has a fully de-coupled dust cover resting on a foam gasket. It is wonderfully simple and produces superb sound. I am not a true audiophile but I appreciate good quality. At the time I bought it I was told it was comparable to the Rega Planar 3. My understanding is that Unity One went out of business years ago, and I cannot find any information on the company or the turntable. It came with next to no documenation. I have just started using it again after several years and am curious to know more. I am also considering selling it. Any info people can give me would be appreciated.
Thanks, Barry bphipps@ucalgary.ca |
