no FM sound on marantz 2245

no FM sound. fm light is on, meters move as stations are dialed, stereo light comes on when station is tuned. But NO SOUND. am works fine, as does aux with cd and dvd player. -
anyone else had this problem and can suggest a fix???? thanks.

it sounds like a standard troubleshooting porblem. searching at the output of your tuner. without a schematic it is impossible for me to make a suggestion. i will check monday for the schematic at work. if someone could post the tuner section i would try to help. will return monday evening to see if any help has arrived

Hi llib,
The MPX output buffers are powered from their own B+. I'm looking at a 2270 diagram, but it should be similar. Check J315 for power, about 24 VDC. The buffers are H313 and H314, they should have about 24 V on the collectors and around 7 VDC on the emitters.

This would cause the symptoms that you have. Now, do you have a good meter, do you have an oscilloscope (to trace signals)?
