I have searched in the forums and found no references about this link. I believe that the most useful info is the Stevenson´s document, circa 1966. I have noticed that there is a page missing, but is still plenty of data to designers and diyers.
It includes four designs of alignment tools -each one with a different pair of ¨zero distortion points¨-, suited to the reproduction of 12¨ discs, 7¨ discs, etc. http://www.helices.org/auDio/turnTable/ Cheers |

Hi, thanks for posting this, I think you've found us a source for what are really the standard works on tonearm geometry, still used today. I've heard these names, but never seen the originals.
Some while ago I was sent a copy of a very good article that digests these papers for the mathematically challenged (like me!): http://www.william-reed.net/audio/tonearms.sit or http://www.william-reed.net/audio/tonearms.zip regards, jeff |
