partially, check out the analog devices datasheet, and compare with mf's input.
I know the mf uses AD chips, ssm2019 and 2210 I believe. also switchable iec, so my guess is they have used circuit 1 and tagged a bit on the end. http://www.datasheetarchive.com/datasheet/pdf/22/2268.html http://www.musicalfidelity.com/mf/en/Products/kW/kWPhonoStage |

The first link appears to be down but i wonder how any of the mentioned chips achieves "Voltage RMS, maximum > 43 Volts "

no its definately better, scroll to the bottom of the page for a download...I think they use a discrete stage for the output.
http://www.datasheetarchive.com/data...f/22/2268.html try again this time ...

The link works now. Very nice circuits indeed. What reasons do you have to believe any similarities? Pictures of the MF insides?

well I know the mf uses ad chips, plus if you look at the input design of the mf from their page
http://www.musicalfidelity.com/mf/en...W/kWPhonoStage you will find its identical, so draw conclusions.... even pro companies use application notes.... |

The AD-page is very promising, but I don't see any MF input design to back it up. Where did you find it exactly?

the capacitive loading of the MF and the application note, is exactly the same.

I once had a Musical Fidelity Digilog D/A convertor. MF wouldn't give me a diagram, so I traced it out myself and found that it was a hotch-potch of IC manufacturers' application notes...

I bulit my DAC using tech sheets and MWP's shemematic, I could not be more pleased with the result, which is of no surprise considering the manufacturers are the people who are going to know how to make their chip work best. Where I imagine most MF design comes in, is in the output stage and power supply. Nuvistas and choke regulation galore etc.
