Hi Peepes
Im looking for a printable cartridge algnment tool (peice of paper) to setup my audionote tt-2 . Just needs to be a generic rb250/300 one. I had one a while ago but Have lost the pdf. regards dave |

Hi, if you check the measurements of the geometry first then you should find that the cartridge is aligned properly when you check it with the guage.
These measuements work very well for the Rega RB250/300: Arm pivot to turntable spindle centres: 222.2mm Arm effective length (arm pivot point to stylus): 239.5mm Stylus overhang (amount the stylus overhangs beyond the spindle centre): 17.3mm If these are right, then you only have to finely adjust the cartridge offset angle to allow for any slight misalignment of the stylus - it's amazing how many cantilevers aren't dead in line with the cartridge body. The measurements differ a little from Rega's published ones, but give an almost spot-on 23 degrees cartridge offset angle and null points at almost exactly 66 and 121 mm (66.04, 120.9) which is about as good as you will get for LPs. regards, jeff |
