The Shure cartridge is a P-Mount cartridge so can only be used if you have that kind of headshell. The AT-95E is a well regarded budget cartridge that can sound very good and is easily available.I would get the Audio-Technica

gee thanks dude...but Shure M92E comes with an adaptor to fit a half inch shell...wat can you say now? and considering Garrard 4HF's have a high mass tonearm, will modern cartridge and its needle(M92E or AT-95E) stand the might of the tonearm? btw, im planning to install a cartridge to a classic Garrard 4HF..heehee..well, wait for your reply...again thanks dude...

There is a place that offers to rebuild old cartridges of the type that your Garrard player might have taken for $35US.Here is a link http://www.west-techservices.com They also offer new Astatic brand cartridges that are hard to get these days.So you might have some luck there.I would also check the Vinyl Engine website and Vinyl Asylum website archives for further info.

ok tnx...but my 4HF doesn't come with any original cartridge, only a crappy pioneer PC-11 that hums! i just wanna replace it with an available and trusted but low cost cart...so i guess i'll just go with the M92E...bec even though i like AT-95E a bit more than M92E, the former is I think isnt available here in the philippines unlike the M92E which is very much available...anyway, thanks for your help and time!!!

But if you want a cheap Shure M92E, I have one I can send you, trade for almost anything...I have tried it (ca. 15 minutes), was not worth listening to anymore...
