Default How does this arm pivot vertically?

Does anyone know if this arm http://www.scheu-analogue.com/eng/to...s/Cantus_5.jpg actually pivots vertically, or does it just have a platform that the lifting arm raises so that the whole arm rises whilst staying horizontal?

If I'm correct, it would mean that this arm only uses a single bearing to allow the arm to pivot across the face of the LP. While it may mean that there's only one bearing, I don't think that this is of benfit considering that there must be serious stiction with an arm/tube combo that would be necessary to allow the arm to rise but have no play whilst on the LP.

I'm looking around at arm bearing schemes because I have a laser system with which I can cut acrylic and am thinking of making an arm from black or clear acrylic. I can't do the bearings so I'd need someone that can machine to partner on this project.

While I was looking around for ideas for an arm that I could cut from acrylic plate, I've also been looking to see if there are any smart bearing schemes that could be copied, hence my interest in this Sheu bearing.

TIA.
