Interesting indeed. Seems like something similar (albeit with slightly different technology) could make reproduction of tapes and CDs possible when they were old or damaged beyond playing. Wow.
...as an inconsequential side note, it seems I just read a review of a book about a bomb taking advantage of the supposed nature of the Higgs Boson...
