Default breuer dynamics

Is anybody familiar with Breuer Dynamics arm.
I own one , that's sitting on an Oracle delphy MK1 and it's a wonderful piece of mechanic.
In recent times i saw on an hifi review a really similar one ( not to say that to me it's exactly the same!) but was branded BRINKMANN, priced around 4200 in Italy!
In any case i would like to rewire it , and therefore i would like to understand if there are tips and tricks to observe for, while i'm going to dismount it.

Thanks and bye

Paolo

Hi Paolo
Dont rewire the Breuer if wires are not broken, they are alright as is. This arm is a mechanical masterpiece but rather fragile.
The Oracle is a perfect environment for the Breuer, one little tweak is usefull for use with lower compliance mcs (the Breuer was designed for high compliance cartridges): add an extra weight/distance plate, brass is good, of 4-6 grammes between cartridge and shell. Otherwise just be a proud owner

Ciao Ingvar.
Thanks for the suggestion. It's better to keep it like this.
i was wondering to make this rewiring because I was not aware of the quality of the wire itself. And this could be the opportunity to give to the whole arm a checK/cleaning.
Due to some budget problems ( a baby is come!!! and he costs a lot!!!) by now I'm using it with a DL103 ( as you say hi compliance) and with a big surprise I'm not suffering at all with such a low budget cartridge.
I've not a single reason to multiply by 10 or 15 the cost of the cartridge because it's not worth. It's been a discovery to find such a nice match between Oracle Breuer and Denon.
In any case if you have some more infos on this arm, i will appreciate very much to have them.

Thanks and bye.

Paolo

Ciao Paolo
The Denon is a fantastic cartridge, You would only feel fooled if You changed to some expensive exotica, try the extra weigth and see! Somewhere ive got the old Absolute sound review of the Breuer hailing it as the "best arm ever made" ill try to find it and scan if You would like to have a copy

If you can scan that stuff it would be great!
Are you using dl103 too?
If yes, with which interface ?(active stepup, transformer etc..)

In any case thanks a lot for the advice.

Ciao

Yes i do use the DL 103 and an Ortofon SPU and a Grado signature. The Denon i use in a Stax 12" arm together with the Hiraga design step-up amp. A 20 kg beast with lead acid
batteries and 2x470 000 uF Capacitors.

Ciao

About the cost regarding children, dont worry, my son was 18 this January and cost is still rising, but ill be damned if i could find something more satisfying to spend on.

Default bad perspective!!!

I forgot the PS....

thanks a lot Ingvar.
So you are saying that it will be more and more difficult!!!! ( not with the turntable for sure)

In any case Thanks also for the weight, but i think I have something similar in graphite ( made by Art) that an Hifi magazine was giving away at the subscribers.

Therefore give me a few days and I'll come back to you with the impressions on this trick that you're suggesting me.

Ciao and have a nice weekend.

Paolo

PS babies are the best thing that could happen to a man.

ingvar,

Sorry to jam in, I am also a owner of the Breuer arm, Type 7.

I am very interested to your tweak about putting weight in the headshell. It sounds like very intelligent design.

May I also have one to try?

I will send my address to you in a PM.

Thanks
