The bypass capacitor will roll off for a time constant indeed. Calculated like a 1st order high pass RC filter. 1000 Ohm and 100uF do fortunately give deep infrasonic turnover still.

There is an almost identical 40dB gain one with different B+ in post #111 in that case back from 2008. Go test that one since you ordered the parts. It only differs on some resistor values. Choose the recommended load value for R8 given your cartridge also.

This is a great circuit and most any version sounds quite good. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. And with Salas here, help is never more than a couple of hours away

Unfortunately no. Only LSK170 by Linear Systems is analogous to the original. Make a search in the forums here, there are guys who sell 2SK170 Toshiba also.
