Smile Highly mod Rega RB250

This is a highly modified RB250, the magnetic anti skate has been replaced for a weight, for a more constant force. No more problems with the original anti skate.

I will proceed with the purchase upon your opinions.

Thanks.

Seems reasonable, especially if they give you a satisfaction guarantee.
But this is an auction, and the price could go much higher. Maybe a standard
Rega arm would be a reasonable option. What turntable will this be mounted on?

Nice. You probably should only consider arms that have Thorens mounting plates readily available for them,
like SME, Rega, Linn, etc.

Have you considered a head shell plate that mounts under the cartridge, for your present arm?

Thanks, but it is out of the question. In about forty years time as an audio nut I have amassed quite a few shell plates of different weights, different materials. In order to achieve a state of equilibrium the balance weight is basically hanging on to 1 thread without any headshell plate. It is practically in the air.
