Bugle2 or Boozhound JFET?

Soon finished with my Lenco so I´m starting to look for a phono stage that fits my wallet. Gotten down to these two. Any opinions, especially from those who have tried both. Thanx in advance...

I can't speak to the Boozehound, but my experience with the Hagerman is wonderful!

I can't speak for the Bugle but the Boozehound was not as good as I expected. You can have my one - fully assembled for $70usd plus shipping from New Zealand.

I would be interested in the Bungle. I built a Hagerman octal cornet and was very happy with the sound...

I had a bad hum problem with my Boozehound when using cheap switching supplies, but have been more than satisfied running it on lead acid batteries (the kind you use in a home-security system).

I have the boozehound. I replaced the Russian PIO caps w/some polystyrenes and Jantzens. Sounds great I think. I run it off of AA batteries.

It has a lot of capacitance in it's input stage and a high output impedance. May not be good for cartridges with low capacitance loading requirements or for use w/passive preamps.

I am very slowly putting together the Salas phono stage right now so I should be able to provide a comparison at some point.
