Mini-Me phono preamp

What was your output signal voltage level?
Your software probably uses averaging to reduce the noise floor, which will make the results seem quieter than they really are.

Incidentally, your choice of MC input stage is quite noisy. You can improve the SNR by perhaps 4dB by connecting the two triodes in parallel and using a simple anode load resistor, instead of stacking the two triodes.

I do not use the MC stage because i have only MM cartriges. Therefore i did a short test with one channel with the measurements as posted before. I listen with my ear nearby the tweeter with my amp on max. and there was no extra noise with or without the MC stage this is for me the most important fact.

Hi everyone,

Here is my phono stage build. For MC amplification I used Lundahl transformers LL1941 and for MM part I used Mini Me schematic ( thanks Ronny for sharing it with us). It sounds awesome. I'm using it for my Thorens TD-309 TT with AT33sa cartridge. PCB was designed by a friend of mine and me and they were made in China.

Great looking phono preamp.
Thank you for posting your experience with the Mini-me.
After building several different phono preamps, i also like the mini-me.

Is there any chance of having the cad files available?

Yes, mine are with Designspark. This program is free. Just send PM with your emailadress.

Nice, I found polystyrene with the exact values at farnell, LCR is the maker. Do you have any experience with that? Any other recommendation on maker?

Sorin

No experience with LCR. Just try and listen. I use a lot of n.o.s. Philips.
