I am about to embark on a DIY turntable project using an old AR turntable as the core of the build. My first choice is to go with a live edge slab (if it doesn't sound good, at least it will look cool), but am also wondering about other materials to use such as baltic birch or mdf.
More importantly are there any materials not to use? I'm interested in also using corian for some parts, but have seen a few comments that it may not be a good idea.
