Both brands attract rather peculiar crowd willing to argue the merits of each .Listen to chatter and pick the camp you want to belong to . Either turntable is going to deliver the goods. I would, however, consider the Funk Firm Achromat as required on the Technics. (And, for what it's worth, I don't care for felt at all on a Rega...)

I wonder if they've changed the composition of the mat. I've got an older one that I traded for a Linn felt mat. I tried it on my M3D and though it sounded awful, so I got a Herbies mat. It sounds way better.
