check The Secret Society of Lathe Trolls, there are some scully experts there. They are of course more interested in discussing his record cutting lathes, but the guys also frequently talk about the tape machines - just ask them!

Have you tried tapping these people for some info:

scully_recorder : Scully Professional Tape Recorders

You might have to join the group though.

Default Hello rulonvences

I used to be a mechanical designer working for Scully Recording Instruments Co. in Bridgeport, CT.

I still have a manual for the Scully 280. I will copy the pages you need for the cost of the copies, no profit. Let me know how you want to proceed.

Sincerely,

Ralf

Smile Reel To Reel Pre Amp Tube Schematic

Does anyone know where I might find a pre amplifier schematic that features 12AX7 or other tubes? I would be most thankful if you could share that information. Thank you very much all.

Is that request for the Scully 280? The Scully machines were solid state.

Sincerely,

Ralf
