B & O TX Tunrtalbe help needed.

My Tx turntable is acting up. The arm lowers on the record and starts to play but the carriage does not move and the arm slowly creeps towards the other photo arm while the other arm is stationary. I have the repair manual. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe there is a rubber band that drives the arm-carriage.
You should check that one first.

Also the mechanism on the carriage that "grips" on the threaded rod that this little rubber band drives.

Not easy to guide You wthout any pictures or videos.

The little belt that drives the carriage and is attached to the threaded rod is fine. The arm will self power to the record and can be cued all the way to the end and back. The issue is that when it is cued on the record and starts to play the carriage does not move in unison with the arm and stays stationary. I suspect it is a photo sensor issue but not sure what to look for.

You may be correct there sir.
I could look in t the schematics and see what I find.
Could You please telle what type-number there is on that turntable?

Should be on a sticker on the rear, 4 digit type number.

Thanks Tandbergeren. It is labeled Type 5653. I have a No.1 and 2 cartridge and it would be a shame to scrap it.
